Information about CAPS for Counselors
The following pertains to the process for any student interested in participating in a Senior Capstone project, either CAPS-Research or CAPS-Internships.
All Counselors are invited to attend CAPS student presentations at the end of the year to celebrate our students' work in the program.
All students interested in CAPS must attend at least one Informational Meeting.
- Registration: A blue form must be submitted to add either CAPS-Research (course #995, this must be accompanied with CAPS-English #160) or CAPS-Internships(course #996) to a student’s schedule by Monday, December 18th. This form must be signed by parent, counselor, and CAPS coordinator, Tim Finnegan. This will serve as a place holder, but does not indicate acceptance into either program. This will provide a consistent roster through Skyward.
- Progress to Graduation: Between October 27th and November 21st, students must see their counselor to review their credit status and progress to graduation.
- Proposal: Each student who has registered for CAPS is required to submit a proposal online by November 22nd.
- Acceptance: The CAPS team will review proposals and progress to grad forms and determine acceptance into requested program by December 22nd.
- Withdrawal of classes: a blue form to drop classes must be submitted by January 15th for CAPS-Internships and CAPS-Research with all pertinent signatures, including a parent/guardian.
